published: 2021-06-07

We know that you can embed web content in the Tableau dashboard. However, users have put forward new needs: I want to embed multiple web content in the dashboard and switch between different web content.

In the actual application of enterprises, you may need to switch multiple web pages such as deposit, supplies, and contracts (as shown below).

In the example, we use a public web to replace the real scene of the company and share the implementation method for everyone.

The Tableau tricks "Holding a chestnut" in this issue, Ada wants to share the Tableau tricks in the worksheet.

We share a simple easy-to-learn method: put the web URL you want to show in the data source (as shown), and achieve the switching web page by custom dimension through the worksheet.

Specific steps are as follows:

Step 1

First, connect our prepared data source. Create a worksheet, dragging the pages and URLs to row.

Step 2

Then, in the working table menu at the top, select the operation and add a chain.

Select Add actions and select Go to the URL.

Next, select the URL in the URL drop-pull strip, and the operation mode can click the selection, then click Confirm.

Step 3

Next, create a new dashboard, drag the previous worksheet into the dashboard. From the object menu, drag the webpage to the dashboard, the edit URL prompt box pop-up, select OK.

Adjust the dashboard layout, the work surface is placed on the left, the web page is placed on the right (as shown below). At this point, select the field or URL on the left by the mouse point, and the right side will appear different web content.
