In actual enterprise application scenarios, when Tableau users need to display on a large screen or other media devices, if the requirements are not particularly complicated, you can use the full-screen Tableau Server to achieve the display effect without integrated development.

We know that Tableau Server needs to be accessible from a browser. So how do you implement a full screen view of the server view in your browser?

In this issue of "Have a Chestnut", Ada's Tableau technique to share with everyone is: multimedia display through the full screen of the server view.

Specific steps are as follows:

1. Publish the dashboard to the server

We publish the prepared dashboard or worksheet to Tableau Server.

2. Log in to Tableau Server

In any browser, open and log in to Tableau Server. When you select Full Screen, you will notice that there are many unrelated symbols on the view.

3. Add Url parameters

Add parameters in Url:

:embed=yes&:tabs=no&:toolbar=no

Then, click Refresh. At this point, we saw that the previously irrelevant content is gone.

Tips: Before adding URL parameters, remove :iid=[#] at the end of the URL. This is the temporary view counter for the current browser session.

4. The browser enters full screen

Finally, set the browser to full screen mode (browser full screen shortcuts: Windows press F11, Mac press control+cmmand+f).

In this way, the full-screen effect of the large screen or other multimedia presentation we want is achieved.
