Lift a chestnut! Tableau Trise (118): Custom Server Project Cover

Many Tableau Server users feedback, more and more projects, often take a long time to find the required content. Although the project folder can display a workbook thumbnail, it is still not awake. Can the folder in the server customize the cover and make document management more visualize?

The answer is yes, in order to distinguish between different projects to quickly query, you can customize images in the thumbnail (as shown below), making your project cover easier to identify.

How to achieve custom? Let's share the method.

Note: This chestnut is only available for Tableau Server 2019.1 and above, and the low version user can be upgraded, then press this method.

Specific steps are as follows:

1. Log in to Tableau Server, open a project, click on the details of the item name to the small icon (i).

TIPS: 2019.1 Unlike the following version without (i) icon, select item details - Edit Description.

 

2. After entering the project details, click on the editing option on the right.

 

3. According to the following format, enter a picture of the cover you want to add.

 

4, find a needed picture online, right click to copy the image address.

 

5. Add the picture to the box in the format as shown.

 

6. After you click Save, we can see the items we set up in the project list.
